Holmbergs in Mexico

OUR HISTORY

 

After ten years in YWAM, Katie for a season in Costa Rica, and Daniel for a season in Guadalajara, Mexico, a season together in YWAM Mazatlan, we are now pioneering Youth With a Mission Morelia, Mexico. 

 

God has always had His eyes on this beautiful city.  As we began praying into God’s heart, He began to release vision.  While we were still in YWAM Guadalajar God began to speak to us and shortly after, visions and dreams began to unfold.

 

While Daniel was translating for a DTS teacher, God began to pour out His vision.  Daniel saw a campus with seven large buildings surrounding a building that resembled the USA White House.  There were thousands of people entering into this center building, where angels where ascending and descending, and when they would leave they were glowing.  They had been transformed by being in the presence of the Lord.  After they had left they would enter into one of the surrounding seven buildings which represented a specific sphere of society.  This was the first of many visions. 

 

As we began to move in what God had spoken, He used many life events to confirm His words.  God had spoken of certain characteristics the city would possess for the start of His new ministry.  It had to have an international airport, be the center of heart and culture of Mexico, have many professionals and universities, and be a place surrounded by the indigenous.  So we began to make a list of different cities in Mexico with these characteristics, and traveled to each one praying and seeking God’s heart.  As they entered into Morelia, Daniel had already felt it was Morelia but need Katie to confirm, and in the first day Katie had peace and said “this was home.”  While in the city, their oldest son was conceived, and then nine months later, Katie went into labor, a month early, while visiting for an all day worship event in the city.  God spoke, “When the birthing process starts, it cannot be stopped.  I am moving you now.”  It was another confirmation that moved into many directions they did not expect. 

 

God’s heart for this ministry is to see people transformed to redeem society.  God uses anyone who is willing to obey His voice and draw close to His heart.  YWAM Morelia is a place to encounter the Lord, going deep in His Truth, to be transformed in your mind.  Our heart is to see young people and professionals alike live the message of Gospel.  We desire to see new models of transformation created to multiple and bring to the nations.
